Bang Rong Pier

Bang Rong Pier on the north eastern side of Phuket Island is sign posted on the way to Ao Por Pier and have boats that can visit Phang Nga Bay. It's one of 2 piers on north east of Phuket to catch speed boats to several of the nearby islands either Koh Yao Yai ( Big Long Island ), Koh Yao Noi ( Little Long Island ), and Koh Naka. Boat times and prices vary. Speed boats operate each day to Koh Yao Yai, Koh Yai Noi, Nopparat Thara Pier at regular intervals between 07.30am and 17.00pm and the journey costs.

Getting to Bang Rong Pier from Phuket Airport takes around 30 - 40 minutes. From Phuket town taxes about 40 - 50 minutes by private taxi. The small village close to Bang Rong pier consist of mainly Muslim residents, many of them make a living by fishing.

Best Ways to Get to Bang Rong Pier from Phuket Aiport - HKT:

Taxi / Private Transfer: This is the fastest and most direct method, taking 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis are available outside the terminal.

Ride-Hailing Apps (Grab/Bolt): Often more transparent with pricing, you can book a car directly from the airport to the pier.

Rental Car: The pier is easy to reach by driving east from the Phuket airport towards the Paklok area.

Most Convenient Options:

Taxi (Metered or Fixed Fare): Cost: Approximately ฿500–฿650.

How to book:  : The official taxi stands are outside the arrivals hall. It is recommended to negotiate and agree on the fare beforehand if it's not a metered taxi.

Grab / Bolt App: Cost: Approximately. ฿400–฿550

How to book:  : Use the Grab App upon arrival. There is a dedicated Grab pick-up point at the airport.

Private Transfer:

Cost: Starts around ฿1,100

How to book: You can pre-book services through online tranfer platforms. This is ideal for groups or those wanting a driver waiting with a name sign. 

Budget Option (Indirect)

Airport Bus + Local Songtaew:

Route: Take the Phuket Airport Bus to Phuket Town (approx. ฿100), then transfer to a blue Songtaew ( local bus ) heading to Bang Rong Pier (approx. ฿30–฿60). 

Travel Time: Roughly 3 hours due to transfers and waiting times.
